# Market Data API

> Browse African exchanges and consume MyStocks quotes, historical prices, charts, companies, news, and market intelligence.

The Market Data API is read-only and can be used with a full partner key or a restricted data key. It covers exchange catalogues, stock and ETF prices, historical candles, charts, company profiles, news, market status, and curated market intelligence. Sandbox and paid licenses currently use **15-minute-delayed prices**. No approved real-time feed has been configured or verified.

## Price tiers and event delivery

Current availability confirmed on **6 October 2026**:

| License | Price delivery |
| ------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Sandbox | 15-minute-delayed prices |
| Paid | 15-minute-delayed prices; real-time delivery unavailable pending feed verification |

Quote delivery is separate from account and order notifications. Webhooks and SSE carry
state-change events, not price ticks or a streaming order book. Event arrival does not establish
quote freshness; inspect `asOf`, `stale` and the response's data-quality metadata.

**Implementation status:** the current shared quote path still reports 15-minute delay:
`delayMinutes: 15` and `refreshIntervalSeconds: 900`, without a license-specific distinction.
A paid license does not remove this delay. Real-time delivery requires a separately approved,
configured and verified feed before it can be offered. Do not relabel delayed or stale responses
as real-time. Inspect actual timestamps and quality metadata for every response.

Every listed African equity has EOD price history for a line chart. Reported OHLCV is available only
where the source series contains it, so use `recommendedChartType` and the quality metadata before
rendering candlesticks or volume. SSE and webhooks deliver state-change events; they are not
tick-by-tick price feeds. See [Data Licensing](/partners/docs/data-licensing).
